Frank W. Wiley

Wiley, 77, died April 5, 2018 at his home in Boothbay, Maine.Frank was born in Camden on Aug. 29, 1940 to Wilbur Wiley and Evelyn McKeon and graduated in 1959 from Camden High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1960 as a Fire Distribution Systems crewman and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1968 after being decorated with the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Expert Rifleman Badge. He then attended school for computer programming.Frank was a skilled man of the sea, horticulturist, fisherman, and wood crafter with a special love for music and song. As an experienced boatman he worked with his stepfather, Cleon Stuart, on a sardine carrier and always shared many memories, stories, and tales from his fishing days. His passion for gardening led him to work at Dyers Greenhouse and Maine Bonsai Gardens, along with having his many elaborate flower beds, gardens and greenhouses at his home.Frank worked at Bath Iron Works as a carpenter and as a member of the Rigging Loft. During retirement, he enjoyed working on his gardens, fishing, canoeing, watching soccer, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren.He was predeceased by his parents, Wilbur Wiley; Cleon and Evelyn (McKeon) Stuart; and his sisters, Anita Wiley and Sylvia Bancroft.He is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Hodgdon) Wiley of Boothbay; children, Gordon Wiley and his wife Brooke of Bristol, Maine; Andrea Wiley of Quincy, Massachusetts; Patrick Wiley and his fiancé Mackenzie Homer of Woolwich, Maine; Megan (Wiley) Bouchard and her husband Matthew of New York, New York; two grandsons, Harper Wiley and Mason Bouchard; sister, Geraldine Cummings of Woolwich, Maine; and many nieces and nephews.A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date.Condolences for the family may be shared at www.hallfuneralhomes.comArrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay.“I’ve traveled this wide world all over, and now to another I go.” (G.B.)...
